Calendars only show on the Family Dashboard once you switch them on here.
Each parent can connect their own Google account.
Until one is on, the Dashboard hides its Calendar tab.

Four days fits an iPad best. Seven works, but names get shortened.
Use the arrows on the Dashboard to see more days — it jumps back
to today on its own.

This takes about a minute in Google Calendar. Most schools, districts and
sports teams share a calendar link that ends in .ics.
Copy the school’s calendar link.
In Google Calendar on a computer, find
Other calendars in the left sidebar and click
+ → From URL.
Paste the link and click Add calendar.
Come back here and switch it on under Connected calendars.
Kids to show
The Dashboard has room for three kids side by side. Only the first
three switched on will show — turn one off to choose who.
Jobs, prizes and approvals are set up on the Jobs screen.
The Dashboard never shows points or money.

Paired tablets
Tap Add a tablet to get a 6-digit code, then type it on the
tablet. Each code works once and expires after 10 minutes. New tablet?
Follow Setting up the tablet below first.
Setting up the tablet
Scan with the tablet’s camera, or go to

Scan the QR code with the iPad’s Camera, or open the
address above in Safari.

Share button, then Add to Home Screen and Add.

Open the Dashboard from the Home Screen icon (not from Safari),
then tap Add a tablet above and type the code.
Keep the iPad plugged in.
Turn on Rotation Lock
Turn the iPad sideways, then open Control Center and tap the rotation
lock. Otherwise the Dashboard will rotate whenever the iPad moves.
Auto-Lock and quiet hours
Go to Settings → Display & Brightness → Auto-Lock.
Choose Never to keep the Dashboard on all the time.
To let it sleep overnight, pick a long Auto-Lock time and set quiet
hours in Settings. Most families use both.
Keeping the screen awake needs iPadOS 18.4 or later; on older iPads,
set Auto-Lock to Never.
Screen brightness
Campfire can’t change brightness. Use
Settings → Display & Brightness, including
Night Shift and auto-brightness. For a darker screen at
night, use quiet hours or the Dark appearance.
Keep little hands in the Dashboard
Settings → Accessibility → Guided Access stops anyone
from leaving the Dashboard by accident. Handy if young kids will be
tapping the screen.

Turn off Auto-rotate
Turn the tablet sideways, swipe down from the top of the screen and
turn off Auto-rotate. Some tablets call it
Rotation lock or show Landscape instead.
Screen timeout and quiet hours
While the Dashboard is open, it keeps the screen on by itself. In
Settings → Display → Screen timeout, pick a few
minutes. During quiet hours the Dashboard stops keeping the screen on,
so the tablet turns it off on schedule.
Screen brightness
Campfire can’t change brightness. Use
Settings → Display for adaptive brightness and
Night Light (called Eye comfort shield on
Samsung). For a darker screen at night, use quiet hours or the Dark
appearance.
Keep little hands in the Dashboard
Turn on App pinning (search Settings for
“pin”). Then open your recent apps, tap the Dashboard’s
icon and choose Pin. To unpin, touch and hold
Back and Overview together.
